1. you will experience all four seasons in one day here, so dress accordingly.
2. we went on our first hiking adventure, ran into, what we believed at the time, to be yaks. later we found out they were just scottish highlanders, a type of cow, but if they feel threatened they will charge at you. the next day we were told that it is also hunting season, and if you aren't wearing bright orange, we were dressed in all black, then you might get shot. good to know.
3. after almost catching the cabin on fire, i now have a broken chi (hair-straightener) and frizzy hair. lesson learned.
4. we ventured into "town" this past weekend to listen to some live music at a pub; we left with a lobster. apparently that's the way some men try to impress ladies here in rosendal?
5. the oven and stove in our cabin is naturally measured in celsius, so cooking for the first time was like one big science experiment. i'm pretty sure we'd all have gotten A's.
i started this a few days ago, but we dont have internet at our cabin, we walk to a nearby school to access it, which is why it has taken me so long to finish this entry! i finished my first week of teaching, and finally feel like i am on norway time. i will share my first week of teaching in a new post, so stay tuned! for now, i will wrap this one up with a few pictures :)

i switch back and forth between the few norwegian words i know, brittish english, and american english throughout the day, so i am finding it difficult to find the words to type, so bare with me :)
